Robots and Automation
We organized a professional meeting in the production hall of Plasma-Tech Systems Kft.
At the professional meeting, we described the role of collaborative robots used in the industry, and representatives of the Universal Robots product family we sold gave a presentation.
In the production hall in Csongrád, we presented different solutions for automation. Several large robot gripping companies were represented at the event. Visitors to the event were able to try out different robotic welding procedures, vacuum grippers and robot grippers. We showed you how to robotize a CNC machining center and also provided insight into our custom machines that are just under construction.
Companies that took part in the event:
- Universal Robots
- Alfa Vill Welding Technology Ltd. (Merkle welder)
- OnRobot
- Jouling Kft (Schmalz vacuum grippers)
In the spring of 2020, a survey covering food industry companies in Hungary (SME robotization barometer) showed that SMEs expect robotization to reduce production costs, which can improve efficiency. They can increase competitiveness, the quantity and quality of product production, which holds greater potential for growth. Additionally, it is an important factor to eliminate human errors by retaining employees and freeing employees from monotonous and time-consuming tasks, thus freeing up more time for higher value-added work. In this case, the person deals with tasks that are ideal for their abilities, while the kobot performs the physically demanding and dangerous tasks.
Food industry companies expect the greatest possible flexibility due to the acceleration of production and innovation. Food manufacturers are faced with countless challenges, as they not only have to comply with strictly prescribed rules, but also complex operations with products of irregular shape, sensitive texture and material.
In other industries, it is customary to be able to use standard automation technology for a considerable time, while the food industry needed new, collaborative technologies, which were solved with sensors and advanced end devices. The movement of bulk products is also thanks to the 3D cameras, which means that they comply with hygiene regulations and relieve employees from difficult physical tasks.
Accordingly, collaborative robots provide the manufacturer and supplier with an ideal balance of repeatability and flexibility, even in processes that were not suitable for automation until now.
The Universal Robots we sell enable companies to maximize their production capacity and maintain constant quality, all with the ability to work continuously in 0-24 hours and a repeatability accuracy of 0.03 mm. As a result, a shorter cycle time is available and the amount of wasted raw material is reduced. Thanks to its small size and light design, the robotic arms can also be used in smaller work areas.
With cobots, it is possible to automate the entire area of the food industry. Flexibility is one of its main features, which enables consistently high quality, precision and, last but not least, constant dosing even after repetitions. They increase the accuracy of the processes and reduce the amount of waste in the processes. The cobots can also be used in "lights out" mode, which means that they work without human intervention, so there is no need for lighting.
There are many studies and descriptions of cobots on the Internet, which illustrate the wide range of solutions they can be used for. It is equipped with a certified safety system that automatically stops the robot in the event of a collision or obstruction.
The kobot provides enormous help to companies open to technology for faster development and effective market competition, all thanks to the fact that it is easy to program and use.
